   Donald Sheldon Haynes, 89, of Letart, West Virginia passed away on February 11, 2010.  He was born on July 4, 1921 in Clifton, West Virginia son of the late Issac Haynes and Laura Smith Haynes.  He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII in the Asiatic-Pacific theater.  He was a member of the Vernon United Methodist Church where he was a former Sunday School teacher.  Donald was retired from the West Virgina Department of Highways.  He was also a cattle farmer and enjoyed bottle collecting.
   He is survived by his son Barry S. Haynes and several nieces and nephews.
   In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his: wife, Loretta Rickard Haynes; sister and brothers, Bernadine (Jack) Mallette, Horace Haynes and Pauline (Mack) Stewart.
   Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, February 19, 2010 at Anderson Funeral Home in New Haven with Pastor Brian Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Hoffman Cemetery where military funeral honors will be presented by the V.F.W. and the American Legion.  A visiting hour will be one hour prior to funeral service.
